Dr. Benjamin Bowman is a native of the Roanoke Valley. He attended Virginia Tech where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1999 followed by a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2007.
After graduation, Dr. Bowman began practicing in the New River Valley in 2007. After spending 8 years as an associate chiropractor and maintaining a practice in the NRV, he was given an opportunity to relocate back to the Roanoke area and work with Dr. Gregory Walter at Walter Chiropractic.
Dr. Bowman continually sets time aside to give back to the community that he is proud to work and live in. He has been an active Rotarian since 2007 with the Radford Noon Rotary Club and was given the distinct honor of being club President from 2010-2011. After his presidency, he sat as the chairman of their fundraising committee until 2015. During this time, he helped plan multiple events to help fund scholarships for Radford High School students attending Radford University along with multiple other Rotary local and international projects. Dr. Bowman also held a Radford Chamber Board position for multiple years and sat on the Economic Development Committee for the City of Radford until May 2015.
Dr. Bowman spent 8 seasons as the team chiropractor for Radford University’s Athletic Department. During his time there he worked in conjunction with the Athletic Trainers and Team Physicians to offer the most effective and comprehensive care to the athletes. Dr. Bowman still enjoys working with athletes that enter the office to help them maximize their performance and avoid further injuries.
In November 2011, Dr. Bowman was named Business Person of the Year by the Radford Chamber of Commerce. He was also awarded First Place-New River Valley for “Best Bedside Manner” by Our Health Magazine in December 2014. Dr. Bowman feels that his patient-first focus along with a caring and authentic attitude is the only way to meet his goal to give exceptional care to his patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bowman enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda and daughter, Makena, as well as attending church at Christiansburg Baptist Church. He is a proud Hokie and enjoys regularly attending Home Football and Basketball games.
Dr. Gregory Walter graduated cum laude from Palmer Chiropractic College, Davenport, Iowa in 1978 and has logged in thousands of hours of extensive post graduate training. Dr Walter opened the clinic in 1984 and "retired" at the end of 2016. He now substitutes at our clinic and for other doctors as needed in the area when he isn't mountain biking at Carvin's Cove or road biking with his wife Rebecca.
